My goal is to give trims in the context of the horse's whole environment.
Including the horses disciplines, daily footing, diet, current or past injuries, age, safety, and comfort level for the horse.
Without a solid foot, you have no horse. No riding, walking, functioning. To care for the hoof is to care for the whole horse, to care for the whole horse is to care for the hoof.
I am a horsewoman and horse owner for the past 25 years.
Someone said you can be a good horseman and a poor farrier but you cannot be a good farrier and a poor horseman.
I aspire to know the equine and listen to their needs.
I have gained and advanced my skill and knowledge of barefoot trimming through clinics, online courses, shadowing farriers, studying hoof anatomy, equine health, and trim techniques and continuing to trim my own horse and 40+ clients, since May of 2022.
I have learned much from Ramey, Jackson, Pierre, Landreville, Curtis, and Tierney
I am a member of Maine Farriers Association.
Currently trimming drafts, donkeys, mules, minis, and of course, horses in Southern Maine.
